We, the faithful of St. John the Theologian Orthodox Church, have been leasing a small storefront building in New Roads, Louisiana, for the last three years. Not only are we quickly outgrowing our space, but the majority of our new attendees are from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We have found a church for sale in Zachary, Louisiana, which will be closer for most of the people in our parish, and will allow us to reach out to more people since the population of Zachary is nearly five times that of our current city. There is not a Russian Orthodox Church in North Baton Rouge, nor is there one within 100 miles. Owning our property and a proper church will allow an Orthodox Christian outreach that is very much needed in our area.

The building that we found is 3,000 square feet and sits on 2.2 acres. The building has a worship space, a kitchen, bathrooms, an office, and space for meetings/classrooms. We offered a purchase with owner financing, which was declined, so we must raise the money that we need to purchase the building. Please consider making a donation to help us purchase a new home!
